Description
Introduction to the agricultural rotavator or rotary:
Agricultural rotivator is one of the agricultural tools used to prepare the land before cultivation. It is used for shallow plowing (tilling) and creating a uniform surface, after which the land is ready for crop cultivation. The plowing and crushing of clods on the surface of the land is done by Italian alloy blades that are located in a spiral on the central shaft of this device and are transmitted by the rotational force of the tractor’s PTO through a cardan to the agricultural rotivator gearbox (rotary or clod breaker) and from there to the blade shaft.
Features of the rotavator or rotary:
These two examples of 66- and 72-blade rotavators or blades have features that can be mentioned as follows. Blade: Using alloy steel blades that are resistant to wear and corrosion and are the main factor in crushing clods and hard soil surfaces. Plowing depth adjustment: Using the tractor’s hydraulic system, the working depth or plowing depth can be adjusted from 5 to 15 centimeters. Roller: Using rollers at the end of the rotavator helps to have a smooth and uniform surface and creates appropriate pressure on the soil, which creates a suitable texture for planting operations. The applications of using a rotary or rotavator are to prepare the planting bed, improve soil texture, mix fertilizer and excellent materials with the soil, as well as crush and fight weeds. Power requirement for a 66-blade rotavator 100-110 horsepower Power requirement for a 72-blade rotavator 10-120 horsepower
Advantages of a rotavator or clod breaker:
Among the advantages of using a rotavator, or so-called clod breaker, are the following:
Improve soil ventilation, increase water absorption, reduce weeds, increase productivity, increase tillage speed, perform simultaneous operations with a plough and disc harrow.
